Let’s talk about a model specifically designed for dynamic apnea. This one-piece wetsuit is made of 1.5mm neoprene, featuring Yamamoto 39 combined with super-elastic linings that optimize performance. It has a pre-shaped anatomical cut, with particular attention to the specific comfort needs of female apnea athletes, designed

As soon as I received it, it was love at first sight. The packaging immediately impressed me. The wetsuit is well packaged and comes with a small paper bag containing essential gloves for dressing. The idea of attaching tags with instructions on how to wear it, along with a detailed description of the materials used, is excellent.
The Apnea Rise Lady feels incredibly soft to the touch, almost like velvet. The white logo with gold details and the geometric/tribal gold prints catch the eye. The XX (Yamamoto) logo at the left wrist and the Salvimar logo on the right are also beautiful. The use of colors and designs makes it very feminine and elegant.
I can't wait to wear it. I'll be using it for dynamic apnea as well as depth diving, as the 1.5mm thickness is commonly used in warmer seas, especially in competitions. Many depth divers often use dynamic wetsuits, adding a separate hood, due to the exceptional elasticity, smooth skin treatment, and anatomically comfortable cut.
I put on the cotton gloves included and begin dressing. The wetsuit feels minimalistic. It uses a single thickness of neoprene, only 1.5mm. The quality of the Yamamoto 39 with the Smooth Skin external treatment immediately stands out, designed to allow natural and unrestricted movement during performance and ventilation. This treatment also enhances the wetsuit's glide in water under all conditions.
The more I look at it, the more I realize how beautiful and practical this wetsuit is, and how quickly it is to wear. It slips on easily, and like other Salvimar models I’ve tried, I notice it’s a bit shorter on the legs, about an inch above the ankles. It’s made with the Raw Edge system, meaning the finishes on the neck, wrists, and ankles are cut “raw.” This system makes it easier to dress and optimizes body heat retention due to the unique properties of the neoprene, which makes such a solution possible without needing external reinforcements.
The inside is incredibly soft, immediately feeling like a second skin. Even though it uses only one thickness, it fits perfectly even on the sides, being both feminine and snug in the right places. The JY Aqua Stretch lining on the shoulders, biceps, forearms, and armpits gives it a comfortable elasticity that makes movement in water and dressing easier. The “touch feeling” is fantastic.
After slipping my arms in easily, I pull up the zipper, a YKK, a professional zipper with a metal slider resistant to saltwater. It feels secure and resistant, gliding very smoothly during both closing and opening. It’s essential to have a high-quality zipper as it is constantly exposed to various stresses and saltwater during activities.
I start my first test with a dynamic apnea session—about 30 minutes, using fins. As soon as I dive, I notice that the neoprene needs a bit of body adaptation, and I feel a slight tightness during arm extensions. This sensation disappears immediately after the first lap, and it soon feels just as comfortable as it did outside of the water. My movements become fluid, smooth, and natural after the first 25 meters.
Even during turns, the neoprene adapts to the body’s movements, making them fluid and spontaneous. The finishes at the neck, wrists, and ankles, with the raw cut system, help maintain body heat, and I don’t feel any heat loss.
Next, I test the wetsuit at depth. Here too, it feels like I’m not wearing anything. The Yamamoto 39 neoprene has remarkable memory elasticity, helping me with movement while descending, and the Smooth Skin external treatment allows me to glide quickly down. I don’t feel any restriction, either while breathing or during the turn. Truly an excellent wetsuit, which I also recommend for outdoor apnea in warm seas, in addition to indoor activities.
