A new collar designed for dynamic use but also suitable for constant use thanks to its modularity. It weighs a total of 4 kilograms and consists of the central part, weighing 2.5 kilograms, to which various differently shaped blocks can be attached

A new entry into the world of freediving collars by C4. I have indeed presented the Dyno, a truly innovative modular model, the result of in-depth studies on ergonomics, material quality, and customization possibilities. Due to its characteristics, it can already be placed at the top of the category and compared only to the well-known Lobster, very similar in use. Alternatively, the market still offers products that are not comparable in the field or, even, handmade or self-made products, without uniformity of standards. Let's now move on to the features that distinguish its construction and quality, design and ergonomics, modularity, and customization.
Construction and quality. Completely Made in Italy, made with a preformed lead core covered with a soft injected thermoplastic material. The total weight is 4 kilograms, and Dyno consists of an anatomical collar weighing 2.5 kilograms, to which different anatomically shaped blocks are added via 4 stainless steel screws (70 grams each), weighing 520 + 390 + 290 + 230 grams respectively, fully customizable according to individual needs.
Design and ergonomics. It features an ergonomic and enveloping design, very compact, with a coating that ensures its positioning during use even with various types of wetsuits; the anatomical collar of 2.5 kilograms can be slightly adapted to the morphological characteristics of each freediver's neck.
Modularity and customization. The wide modularity of the available components, thanks to weights of different grammages, allows for complete customization based on body types, the thickness of the wetsuit used, and the intended use, all through the possibility of adding additional blocks beyond the standard. Additionally, the main anatomical collar can be used separately, not only for dynamic but also for constant descents. And, not insignificantly, the pass-through fixing screws, in addition to ensuring maximum robustness and torsional rigidity to the system (which does not happen with the fixing system used by Lobster), are easy to assemble and disassemble for weight modification, even while comfortably remaining poolside, both by hand and with a small screwdriver. We deliberately left the usage field and the notes regarding the water test at the end of the article, as they turned out to be a confirmation of what was highlighted above. It is a collar primarily designed for high-quality dynamic use, where it is now mandatory to seek neutral buoyancy in favor of maximum hydrodynamics, even when wearing wetsuits, albeit lightweight but of different thicknesses, or technical swimming or freediving costumes. The usage field can also be extended to constant weighting, using only the 2.5-kilogram anatomical collar, which, from some tests carried out, would still provide good stability once positioned. Given the value of the project, we would positively view a future development of the product through the production of a lighter anatomical collar, specific to constant weighting. The various water tests have only confirmed the highlighted features, and besides, the Dyno is beautiful for its simplicity! What else to say? Hats off! Dyno is available in classic black and a beautiful red color at a price of 170 euros, which positions it in a widely contained and lower range compared to what is offered by the competition.
